20 GF3 Blast Lane

Blast Lane
2 Wheel representing today! The only word to describe Hot Wheels motorcycles is cool. Hot Wheels have done a great job including some really iconic motorcycles in the lineup. This casting doesnt represent a single brand, it is an entire culture within the motorcycle world. "Blast Lane" is actually on the edge of being considered classic.

Original release in 2000 as a First Edition, Blast Lane is the icon of cool in the moto line up. The fat rear tire, the chopper rake in the front wheel and the surplus of body space for cool paint and decorations (for a motorcycle). I really like the pearlescent paint for this first edition release. The motor and side pipes are cast metal which gives this motorcycle some weight over others.

Blast Lane has been featured in the lineup in many different segments, making collecting them difficult at times. There are several color variations it the classic series, there was an appearance in the real rider’s series, and the popular since 68’ series just to name a few of the more collectible ones. The paint and decals on Blast Lane have always been flames or tribal looking flames. The Real Riders release in blue with white and yellow stripes is high on my list of hunts.

So, if you are a two-wheel collector, keep your eye out for Blast Lane and its many forms. Especially this one – one the First Editions of the new century (when considering Hot Wheels started in 1968)!

Thank you,
Collector Quentin

I now own the actual diecast pictured in this post. However, all packaging artwork, Mattel or Hot Wheels logos, paint descriptions and wheel descriptions are copyrights of the Mattel toy company.
