57 GMC Stepside
There isn't much one can add to such a classic vehicle. This classic 50s
stepside pickup especially. A farm truck, or at least a common truck amongst farmers.
Just look at the backdrop, what is that?
These pickups have been very popular in the hot rod arena
and a nicely done 50s pickup can bring big bucks. This 2011 Matchbox release
probably will never bring big bucks; however, it does bring big looks. Matchbox is owned by Mattel. Mattel has brought the Matchbox line some drastic improvements in
the last decade. This example is clear evidence of that.
The GMC logo is cast into the tailgate. The bed and sideboards
are stamped with a wood grain pattern. There are 3 different colors used, the
body color, the bed and interior color and then the bumper and base color. The
base and bumpers are black which does take away some of the look in the grill
section. The grill and headlights are also well detailed with all the lines you
would expect. The wheels are near perfect for the near stock, farm use look.
So lets hop in with the farm dog and take a back woods ride
to the farmers market to sell this year’s crops! Almost to good to be true.
Thank you,
Collector Quentin
