20 GF5 69 GTO Judge

69 GTO Judge
If you have a minute and do a quick Google search for 70 GTO Judge! You will then see some images of a real car that looks pretty close to this one. Although the one made famous by the internet is a 70 GTO.

The 69 GTO Judge shown here is the tooned version. Tooned is a mainline sub-series of cars that are well, "car-toonish" and just a little wilder than real life. Most of the Tooned series feature bodies that are augmented in some way. This one is among the first in the series and surprisingly is one of the only ones to feature a body that is not too wildly augmented likes its tooned series brothers and sisters, only the engine.

It is unclear if the real car inspired this one or not - maybe vice-versa? This series also may have given the idea for Snot Rod in the Cars movie series (the Hot Wheels came first though). It is a very cool looking hot rod and is actually a pretty cool collector piece for any hot rod or muscle car collection. The first edition (2003) was painted in the popular and period correct orange with "The Judge" decal on the side. This release (2010) was typically found in a tooned muscle 5 pack with other tooned muscle cars. Out of the 5 packs, this was one of my personal favorites. I can imagine the sound this vehicle would make and the feeling of the rumble below my feet as this vehicle past me by. it is however hard to imagine driving it because that motor is so big, you would have a massive blind spot, telling me that it is designed for one thing only, straight line domination.

The paint job on this release is a pearl white with red decals. The red striping is not over the top and suits the look well. The gold 5 spokes look good but a wheel swap to some fat real riders would really make this one look great.

Thank you,
Collector Quentin

I own the actual diecast pictured in this post. However, all packaging artwork, Mattel or Hot Wheels logos, paint descriptions and wheel descriptions in regard to the Hot Wheels versions are copyrights of the Mattel toy company.
