Purple Passion Woody
Here is an interesting piece. I wasn’t sure what it was in
the picture and was even more puzzled upon opening the box. The Purple Passion
is a well-known classic that has been a Hot Wheels casting since 1990. The
Purple Passion is a classic 50s led sled casting. There are not many led sled
castings in the Hot Wheels line.
The Purple Passion Woody is a special version that is only
featured in premium series like HW Garage series and the highly collectible
Since 68 Hot Rods series. This version is from the 2010 Holiday Hot Rods series
which isn’t as collectible but for me, the oddity of the car makes it a new
favorite piece. As the series would suggest, the decorations are Christmas
themed. It was available in both green and red, either color does not signify
rarity just yet.
The oddity of the Purple Passion Woody is that it shares
all of the body features of the regular purple passion but in a wagon format.
The front half of the car is clearly passion. The extended rear bumper or skid bar
are also carried over. An odd addition is the surfboard in the back of a car
that is decorated with snowflakes! Purple passion Woody is a heavy solid
casting with a metal base, and it makes for a great conversation piece for any
collection. This is the first time I have witnessed one of this casting and
will certainly keep my eyes open for the red version and any other versions
that happen to come available for sale.
